I started up SQL Power Architect and got the following exception:

java.lang.NullPointerException
at ca.sqlpower.util.Version.<init>(Version.java:60)
at ca.sqlpower.architect.ArchitectVersion.<init>(ArchitectVersion.java:96)
at
ca.sqlpower.architect.swingui.action.CheckForUpdateAction.checkForUpdate(CheckForUpdateAction.java:82)
at
ca.sqlpower.architect.swingui.ArchitectFrame$25$1.run(ArchitectFrame.java:1422)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:680)

This issued occurred when user doesn't have an internet connection.
when Architect launch its try to compare current version of Architect with one
at :
http://power-architect.sqlpower.ca/current_version, which return null.

Implemented to catch NPE and displaying user friendly message while
checking for software update. Related to BUG ID #3168
